Problem
Malfunction and damage to equipment (This is a simulation to evaluate the effect of a voltage drop caused by cable impedance.)
Analysis
Voltage supplied to equipment drops to less than 90V because of cable impedance. Equipment malfunctions or becomes damaged when the power supply voltage drops below the allowable power supply voltage due to the cable impedance.
The cable impedance used in this simulation is measured at 1Ω. When a 10A load current flows to this cable, a 10Vrms drop occurs based on Ohm’s law (1Ω * 10A = 10V).
