Background

This is the 5th Power India Conference, being Co-sponsored by IEEE PES-IAS Delhi Chapter, &
IEEE PELS-IES Delhi Chapter. Earlier ones were held in 1990, 2006, 2008, and 2010 in New
Delhi under IEEE banner and technically co-sponsored by its Societies, like, PES, IAS, PELS, &
IES. It has the similar support from IAS, & PELS this time too.

Conference Theme

Grid Integration of Renewable & Sustainable Energy Sources
The worldwide power system networks have grown in size and complexity over the years. There
is further strong need of strengthening the electricity network to meet the growing demand, enable
competition in the deregulated electricity market and integration of intermittent renewable energy
sources. This also poses a great challenge for the power system engineers to set in place a modern intelligent/smart grid to ensure greater reliability and efficiency across the entire power network. Keeping all these in mind for the development of power sector as a whole for the benefit of
mankind, the Organizing Committee of the Conference invites papers for presentation and general
participation as well as support, from academic and R & D organizations, power industry,
consultancy firms, standards and regulatory bodies.

Areas to be covered, but not limited to –

• Renewable Energy Sources and Storage • Electric Power Quality
• Restructuring of Power Systems
• Power Electronics & Drives
• Planning and Operation under Deregulated
Conditions
• Grid Integration of Distributed Generation • HVDC Transmission, FACTS
• Energy efficiency • Power Systems Communication
• Power Systems Stability and Control • Blackouts: Analysis, Prevention & Control
• Asset Management and Reliability • Demand Side Management
• Power Systems Protection • Power Systems Instrumentation
• High Voltage and Insulation Engineering • Wide Area Monitoring and Control
