PEPQA 2013 goal is to be the Workshop on Power Electronics and Power Quality Applications in Colombia. Its first edition will take place in Bogota, Colombia. Bogota is a large city with more than 7 million of inhabitants. It is located 2600 meters above the sea level and surrounded by the beautiful Andes Mountains, providing a special and unique environment. It has a wonderful combination of colonial and modern architecture; large parks and industrial zones; and a variety of places to visit, eat, party, enjoy of live music, theater, dance, and almost any kind of activity that you may imagine. All this integrated by the friendship and kindness of its people.
The conference will provide a forum for students, academics, and industry professionals to collaborate on meeting the ever-increasing power electronics and power quality challenges. The conference will offer general tutorials in power electronics by experts in the field, as well as oral and poster contributions.
The workshop will cover technical novelties and tutorial overviews in industrial appilcations topics including but not limited to:
- Power semiconductor devices and packaging technologies
- Electric motor drives and electrical machines
- FACTS, STATCOMS, HVDC
- Electric vehicles (EV), automotive electronics

- Standards, Policies, and Regulations for Power Quality
Papers are selected on the basis of interest to conference attendees and applicability to the industry. Papers are limited to six pages. Papers written in English or Spanish will be considered for publication.
